My name is Janice, a psychologist and teacher-trainer from the University of the Philippines. 15 years in the academic industry gave me the opportunity to work in various universities and organizations. Perhaps teaching is the most exciting profession in the world because you get the chance to talk, coach and help other people from all walks of life. I am also an active advocate of Filipinos with Chronic Illnesses, where I share a same condition. Sharing positive thoughts and believing that we can do anything can make a big difference in the lives of other people. WE DON'T TRY, WE DO!
I started my teaching career as a Psychology professor in 2000. It was in 2008 when I began to engage myself in distance education - ESL online teaching to Japanese students using Skype. Since then, I have been coaching students with IELTS and TOEFL speaking & writing, guiding them with business English, article discussions and other skills that will help the students become more comfortable with the English language. Eventually, I began to train teaching methods using online multimedia tools. I also train humanitarian workers, both locals and expatriates, in an international humanitarian organization.
